Midad Initiative Opens New and Accessible Pathway into Teaching in Abu Dhabi

Midad Initiative Opens New and Accessible Pathway into Teaching in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi, UAE – 24 April 2026: As part of its revamped teacher talent approach, the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK) has launched Midad – a flexible, entry-level training program designed to equip passionate individuals with the skills needed to step into the classroom. The initiative reinforces ADEK’s continued efforts to elevate the caliber and standards of education across Abu Dhabi’s private and charter schools by expanding and diversifying the educator pool.

Midad creates an accessible pathway into education, starting with a four-week bootcamp delivered through a flexible, self-paced model. Open to UAE nationals and long-term residents, the program enables individuals with diverse experiences and a deep understanding of UAE values to bring real-world perspectives into learning environments and help shape future generations. It is also valuable for parents who want to play a more active role in their child’s learning journey and support their development.

In this bootcamp, participants will be introduced to the core principles of effective teaching, including classroom management, teaching methodologies, understanding diverse student needs, integrating technology and AI into learning, and strengthening UAE national identity and values.

Upon completion, participants can apply their skills in part-time teaching roles, while progressing through additional pathways and pursuing further teaching qualifications. High-performing participants will also be invited to apply to Kon Moallim Cohort 2 — ADEK’s flagship program offering a fully sponsored postgraduate diploma in education.

This step reflects ADEK’s commitment to strengthening the teaching workforce by welcoming individuals who combine knowledge, experience, and purpose. It ensures students in Abu Dhabi benefit from relevant and enriching learning experience aligned with the emirate's continued drive for excellence in education.
